Choir Director, Melanie Bolas

 Melanie Bolas- Melanie is currently the music teacher at Chancellor Elementary School in Spotsylvania County and has been there since 2003. There, she oversees the Special Area team, as well as, teaches music to all students, ranging in grades Preschool through 5th grade. In 2005, she established an enrichment band program and was a founding member of the District XV Elementary Chorus. Melanie is also the Musical Director for the Blue Ridge Chorale located in Culpeper, VA, and began her tenure there in 2018. Here at St. Matthew Catholic Church, she oversees the music for all Masses and leads the Family Choir, as well as Cantors for Masses, including weddings and funerals. Melanie graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2001, Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Music in Education. She currently resides in Spotsylvania County with her husband, Steven, and their two sons, Sean and Daniel
